Good Health has launched two new savoury snacks in the US – veggie pretzels and gluten-free pretzels – that make use of some of the category’s most on-trend functional ingredients.
Joining Good Health’s existing family of crispy snacks, the new products each boast a range of good-for-you ingredients like Extra Goodness! – a unique blend of vitamins and real vegetables that delivers powerful nutrition, with broccoli, beets, tomatoes, spinach and carrots for at least 20% of the reference values of vitamins A, B6 and K.
The blend also contains 10% of the reference value of vitamin C, and 15% of vitamin E.
“Helping families make truly good decisions when it comes to snacking without feeling like they’re sacrificing taste is at the core of everything we do at Good Health,” said Mary Schulman, vice-president of strategy for the brand.
“Perfect for modern families, our crunchy, mouthwatering pretzels give the snack category pizzazz by offering tasty gluten-free options for those with and without gluten intolerances, as well as the excitement of Extra Goodness! perfectly blended and undetected by kids and adults – all while still delivering the nutrition they need. We’re eager to share these crave-able, downright delicious innovations with our retail partners, buyers and consumers alike.”
The new pretzels are free from hydrogenated oils, preservatives, trans fat and artificial colours, the brand said.
The veggie pretzels are described as “thick pretzel sticks”, with Extra Goodness! and the powerful nutrition of vegetables baked into each bite. They are then sprinkled with Himalayan salt, renowned for its health benefits and high mineral content.
The gluten-free pretzels are made with Extra Goodness!, whole grain brown rice flour, bamboo plant fibre and added vitamins that create a satisfyingly salty, crunchy snack.
