The Great British Biscotti Co has launched a range of premium coffee-break biscuits, after teasing two new products in the last couple of months.
The start-up brand unveiled a chunky chocolate variant, made to be dunked, in February before adding a honey and lemon flavour in March.
The full range includes both sweet biscotti – including chocolate-orange and white chocolate, cranberry and pistachio – as well as savoury flavours like sundried tomato and olive, wild garlic and rosemary, jalapeño and cheddar, and seaweed and cracked peppercorn.
Addressing the idea that great biscotti can’t be produced outside Italy, Great British Biscotti’s Paul Rostand said: “Here at the Great British Biscotti Company we’ve got very used to biscuit prejudice. First there was the claim that the best biscotti come from Italy – it was after all the marching legionnaire’s biscuit of choice – which might have been true a few thousand years ago, however their thoughtful invasion of our shores long ago means that the UK is now also a powerhouse when it comes to fine biscuit knowhow.”
The UK-based bakery has had to move into bigger production facilities to accommodate increased orders, and it now exports to destinations like Hong Kong, Scandinavia, Germany and even Italy.
The new line-up is described as ‘a must-have accessory’ for the travel retail and horeca sectors.
