Green Bottle Spring Water was also featured at the Expo as a BioPreferred vendor to the US government, an exclusive designation given only to products that demonstrate a significant achievement in sustainability.
“From the nation’s capitol to the largest government procurement conference, Naturally Iowa’s bio-based water bottles are showing the federal sector how products made from renewable resources can be easily incorporated into our daily operations,” said Ron Buckhalt, BioPreferred program manager for the US Department of Agriculture. “These water bottles are just one example of the more than 3,000 BioPreferred, bio-based products that are helping us lessen our dependency on petroleum and adopt more green operations.”
Attendees at the 2009 GSA Expo, including many of the most senior purchasing managers for leading departments and agencies of the US government, enjoyed the award-winning taste of Green Bottle Spring Water, which utilises fully compostable bottles made from plants, not oil.
These innovative plant-based bottles conserve petroleum resources and address the concerns regarding end-of-life issues and disposal of plastic water bottles.
“As the hosts of the National GSA Expo here in San Antonio, we’re proud to feature Naturally Iowa’s Green Bottle Spring Water as the only bottled water offered at the convention,” said Elias Aguirre of the RK Group LLC, food service manager of the convention. “It’s truly great to see that there’s a bottled water with packaging made from plants, not oil, that is 100% compostable and meets US government specifications to qualify as a BioPreferred vendor.”
