Non-GMO and organic food ingredient supplier Green Boy Group has acquired Sweet Nature, an importer and distributor of specialty sweeteners for an undisclosed sum.
Based in California, Sweet Nature offers an extensive portfolio of specialty non-GMO and organic syrups to customers in the natural and organic food industry including manufacturers of snack bars, chocolate, confectionery as well as bakeries, blenders and distributors throughout the US.
According to Green Boy, Sweet Nature’s beet syrup Beet Sweet experiences high demand as it is the only non-GMO verified beet syrup available in the world.
The acquisition will expand Green Boy’s liquid sweetener ingredients footprint in North America through enhancing its portfolio.
Founded in 2016, Green Boy aims to meet demand for sustainably grown ingredients through a transparent supply chain. The company is based in Los Angeles, California and Amsterdam, Netherlands.
“We are thrilled about this acquisition and the opportunity to enlarge our growth in the non-GMO and organic syrup market in the United States and Canada,” said Peter van Dijken, Green Boy co-founder and CEO.
Van Dijken added: “It aligns with our ambition to broaden our network of customers and producers and to supply differentiated value-added specialty ingredients. We are excited to offer our customised supply chain management to our new customers, and to allow them to make use of our existing product portfolio which includes non-GMO and organic plant-based proteins, starches, fibres and other sweeteners.”
