Green Giant has released a range of frozen spiralised vegetables, which the company says are a nutritious, low-calorie alternative to pasta.
Available in Butternut Squash, Beetroot, Zucchini and Carrot flavours, the Veggie Spirals range will go on sale in the US this month from $3.99 in selected stores, and the range will be available nationwide in February.
All four flavours are made with 100% vegetables, contain 15 calories per serving and are made without added sauces, seasonings or other additives.
The range is packaged in a heat-and-eat container, which allows consumers to cook the product from frozen in six minutes.
Jordan Greenberg, vice president and general manager at Green Giant said: “Veggie Spirals are the latest progression in our Veggie Swap-Ins line, and perhaps our most-anticipated innovation to date, as social media has been abuzz about this release for weeks.
“Families are always looking for new ways to simplify their clean eating routines, especially in the New Year, and Green Giant Veggie Spirals is our answer to their call.”
Green Giant partnered with food blogger Lisa Lillien, a.k.a. Hungry Girl to promote the product to consumers, and Lillien said: “The new line of Green Giant Veggie Spirals is a total game changer.
“People are obsessed with using spiralized veggies as pasta replacements that save calories and carbs while tasting great. And Green Giant’s line of heat and eat spiralized vegetables makes them so much easier to enjoy!”
