Italian cured-meats producer Gruppo Veronesi has acquired Certosa Salumi for an undisclosed sum, as it sees the deal strengthening its international market.
Gruppo Veronesi, the owner of brands including Veronesi, AIA and Negroni, said the acquisition will boost its production of cold cuts and salami, with particular attention to the typical products of the Parma, Italy area, such as Salame Felino PGI.
Founded in 2010, Certosa Salumi, which has a plant of over 10,000 square metres, specialises in producing, ageing and packaging cured meats. Its productions are certified for export to countries such as the USA, Canada, Japan, Brazil and other non-EU countries.
Gruppo Veronesi CEO, Luigi Fasoli, said: “We are pleased to welcome this production reality into Gruppo, which will allow us to strengthen our presence on the market and continue to grow in the delicatessen sector in which we have been operating for years”.
“For us, this is a further step towards sustainable growth, which joins the over 100 million investments that we dedicate every year to the competitiveness of our Italian assets throughout the supply chain.”
