Bottled water brand Harrogate has debuted a new 180ml bottle, specially designed for the travel retail market.
The bottle – with a shape described as being ‘a cross between square and round’ – fits neatly into in-flight snack boxes and service trays. It follows the launch of an innovative 250ml anti-roll bottle last year, which in just 15 months has shifted 10 million units.
Harrogate Water sales and marketing director Rob Pickering said: “The international air travel sector is a huge worldwide market and 2016 proved a breakthrough year for us. Interest in our latest bottle has been extremely positive and we are confident that this exciting but demanding channel will remain an important area of growth for the business.”
The 250ml bottle has nine ridges subtly incorporated into the design, which makes it stable when placed on its side on aircraft seat trays. The 180ml bottle has also been designed for stability and was developed in partnership with Krones, the blow moulding and packaging specialist.
Both designs retain the distinctive Harrogate Spring diamond branding common across the Harrogate range.
Harrogate Spring Water and its sister brand, Thirsty Planet, are served on numerous UK-based and global airlines, it said.
