Heineken has partnered with Infor to implement a standardisation programme across its brewery network, in order to optimise production capacity.
Infor is a developer of industry-tailored cloud-based applications, and its Infor Advanced Scheduling helps to reduce production complexity for brands.
Heineken will introduce the Infor Advanced Scheduling software to its breweries in 20 countries, and the brand estimates the technology will standardise approximately 90% of the operations in these breweries.
The brewer chose to roll out the software to its global network following a successful trial at two of its breweries in Italy.
Based on the evidence from this trial, the brand estimates that production capacity at the facilities could increase up to 10%, while glass waste in the production process could be reduced up to 40%.
Ad van Delzen, strategic planner at Heineken said “It is vital for us to reduce complexity in our operations and keep control of production.
“Strategic applications such as Infor Advanced Scheduling mean that we can extend this control across our breweries and offer a route to improved profitability and much greater efficiency, without losing the individual characteristics of that brewery or beer.”
