“According to our global policy, the price of the transaction will not be disclosed,” said a press release from Heineken, dated 11 May.
In 2008, Heineken acquired Bere Mures, owner of a brewery in Ungheni, Mures County, and of a mineral water company in Bacaila, Hunedoara County.
The company produces the Cezara and Cheile Cibului mineral water brands, as well as the Neumarkt, Dracula and Sovata beer brands. The legal integration of Bere Mures into Heineken Romania was completed in April 2009. Following the completion of the merger, Heineken Romania has decided to sell the mineral waters division belonging to Bere Mures through KBC Securities.
Heineken Romania said it will continue to invest in developing the plant in Targu Mures, its Neumarkt brand, as well as its other plants and brands. The company operates five breweries in Constanta, Craiova, Hateg, Miercurea Ciuc and Targu Mures.
