Hispanic Cheese Makers-Nuestro Queso has announced that it is investing $15 million in an expansion project at its facility in Kent, Illinois.
In order to address increased demand for its cheeses and cremas, the company is investing in new processing and packaging equipment.
Hispanic Cheese Makers expects the project to boost operational efficiencies, add capacity and further improve food safety.
The company also says that it is adding a significant amount of new cooler space and expanding its blast cooling capabilities.
According to Hispanic Cheese Makers, the separate cooler space will allow it to work on the upgrades without disrupting operations at the plant.
The company will also be investing in additional loading docks.
