Hola Nola Foods has launched red bean and rice tortilla chips as it responds to growing consumer interest in Mexican food.
Available in Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama, the chips are made with Camellia Brand red beans, whole grain rice and a dash of Crystal hot sauce.
The product is packaged in the Hola Nola’s “innovative microwavable bags, for a warm tasty chip experience”.
Hola Nola Foods founder Kevin S Holden said: “We wanted to marry the growing interest in traditional Mexican ingredients with a classic local dish. Everyone loves red beans and rice made with Camellia beans because they’re the most flavourful, and Crystal hot sauce adds just the right heat.
“There’s also considerable interest in snacks made with simple ingredients but delivering bold flavour profiles. We’ve managed to accomplish both goals with these chips.”
Camellia Brand Beans CEO Vince Hayward added: “At Camellia Beans, we appreciate the quality of Hola Nola products and the company’s expertise in the snack category. Of course, we’re thrilled that New Orleans’ most soulful dish is recognised through these delicious red bean and rice tortilla chips.”
