Better-for-you snacking company Hu Products has announced the launch of a new line of grain-free, no-added-sugar cookies across the US.
The brand was recently acquired by Mondelēz International, building on the confectionery giant’s initial minority investment in 2019.
Hu’s grain-free cookies are paleo and keto-friendly and come in four nostalgic varieties: chocolate chip, peanut butter, snickerdoodle and ginger snap.
The crispy mini cookies are made with eggs, cassava flour, organic coconut oil and chicory root fibre, and are sweetened with dates. Each seven-cookie serving contains 120 calories and 3g of fibre.
Hu Cookies join the brand’s line up of chocolate bars, chocolate gems for baking and grain-free crackers.
Jordan Brown, Hu co-founder, said: “Hands down, my and Jessica’s [co-founder] favourite snack growing up was cookies, and our mother kept the kitchen stocked with a large array. As we got older and more health-oriented, our cookie consumption plummeted.
“With the launch of Hu and our becoming gluten-free/grain-free fanatics, we knew we could one day bring back to life those cookies from our youth – but in a way that fit our adult eating habits. That day is here! You don’t have to make trade-offs with these cookies, as there are no weird ingredients and no sacrifice to great taste.”
Hu Cookies are available to purchase now online and are coming to Sprouts stores nationwide in April, with additional retail locations to be announced.
