The Food People has created new infographics to celebrate – and illustrate – the release of its 2016-17 Foodwatching trend predictions.
The company has brought the trends to life in a series of infographics, which include the “most talked about” trends for 2016, the social and cultural drivers, the big ten food and beverage trends and over 100 sub-food trends as well as the influencing cuisines map and key sweet and savoury “flavour markers” for the coming year.
The second of two infographics shows consumers’ journeys into food experimentation and features a chart that shows the most influential cuisines in terms of current trend setting, and how that relates to their mass-market appeal. The graphic appears to suggest that Cuban food holds the least sway and appeal, while Persian food is holding the middle ground, with moderate appeal and moderate influence over food trends. In the same chart, there is also good news for British and American cuisine.
