Drinks brand Innocent has launched its first ever line of coconut water, which it has described as “the perfect natural thirst quencher”.
The new drink is 100% pure coconut water, which contains a source of potassium that helps the body to stay hydrated naturally. It is made using a blend of specially selected coconut varieties and is free from sweeteners, concentrates or additives. Innocent coconut water is low in calories and fat-free.
The brand keeps the coconut water chilled from the moment the coconuts are cracked open, helping to retain the “sweet, refreshing and nutty taste”, the brand said. It is available from supermarkets in 1l and 500ml formats with a recommended retail price of £3.69 and £2.49 respectively.
Innocent UK managing director Nick Canney added: “At Innocent we’re all about helping people live well and die old, and so we’re really excited to be expanding our range to give consumers more ways to get their daily goodness from Innocent. The coconut water category is growing fast and we see a natural fit between the health conscious coconut water drinkers and the innocent brand. Our 100% pure coconut water offers consumers a refreshing, natural way to quench their thirst from a brand they know and love. Made from 100% coconut water and nothing else, our unique blend gives a refreshing, sweet, nutty taste and is chilled from source to keep it deliciously fresh.”
Its introduction coincides with a peak in the global coconut water market; we previously reported on new research that suggested the world’s consumption of the beverage would soon surpass the 4bn litre mark.
Last month, Innocent unveiled a new lightly sparkling fruit juice and spring water blend called Bubbles to add “a bit of extra sparkle” to its product portfolio.
