Chemineau detailed how Pep2Dia will be beneficial for those with diabetes.
“We know today that diabetes is a public health concern. Nearly nine percent of the adult population is affected by diabetes. 350 million people are pre-diabetic, meaning they are at a high risk of developing diabetes. We wanted to design a product specifically for this part of the population, to help them to manage their blood sugar levels.”
Trotier noted how Prodiet can be applied to new products, such as gels, to be used by active sportspeople on the go.
“Sportspeople have special nutritional needs, especially with protein.
“The gel that we have designed with Prodiet has a 2-in-1 purpose. It can be used before and during high-intensity workouts.
“It has been formulated to be 25% protein and 25% carbohydrates, with a fast amino acid release, which boosts energy before and during high-intensity exercise.”
