Blue River was a finalist in the ‘best infant nutrition’ category of the 2021 World Dairy Innovation Awards. To celebrate this momentous occasion, FoodBev Media interviewed Blue River to showcase the company’s considerable achievements and innovation in the dairy industry.

Additionally, the company has been recognised internationally and has successfully managed approximately 70% of the world’s sheep whey resources, strategically handling New Zealand and Italy’s high-quality milk source, which provides Blue River with the capacity to cultivate greater dairy products for the future.

From this extensive research, Blue River discovered that sheep milk behaves similarly to breast milk making it more acceptable to the human digestive system. Sheep milk is rich in several natural nutrients that are not found in cow and goat milk, such as eight times more lactoferrin – which has antibacterial properties – 1.5 times more calcium, and contains smaller fat globules that assist digestion.
Blue River’s sheep milk contains naturally occurring A2 beta-casein, and unlike cow or goat milk, does not contain any A1 proteins, which can cause digestive discomfort. The strengthened formula includes additional nutrients including DHA, choline and lutein, scientifically proven to accelerate brain and eye function.
