Jane’s Dough Foods has launched Sonoma Woodfired, an oven-ready pizza line that aims to bring a product that’s typically exclusive to restaurants to US grocery store shelves.
Through an authentic wood-fire cooking technique, Sonoma Woodfired aims to capture a smoky flavour while ensuring the crusts are light and crispy.
The pizza crusts are made with six natural ingredients and paired with a sauce made from sun-ripened tomatoes, and simple toppings without any artificial flavours, colours or preservatives.
Three flavours are available: Kickin’ chicken, with grilled chicken breast, roasted courgette, butternut squash, portabello mushrooms and roasted red peppers; Tofumami, featuring tofu, portabello mushrooms, caramelised onions and red onions; and Trill Pepp, topped with three types of pepperoni.
Jane’s Dough Foods president Stan Jacot said: “Consumers don’t want to sacrifice quality ingredients, bold flavours and clean labels in exchange for a night in.
“With this launch, we’re making authentic wood-fired pizza with natural, flavorful toppings more accessible to consumers who refuse to settle.”
Jane’s Dough Foods was established in 2008 by the Donatos Pizza Company to mass-produce dough and pizza products.
