US biltong brand Kalahari Snacks has expanded its meat snack portfolio with the introduction of Kalahari Crisps: Air Dried Beef Chips.
Using the brand’s South African-inspired biltong, Kalahari Crisps are made with spiced top round beef that is sliced and roasted.
Featuring 20g of protein per pack, the crisps are available in three flavours: Original, Southwest Verde and Rosemary Citrus.
With 100 calories per serving and zero carbs and sugar, the product is suitable for keto, paleo and Whole30 diets.
Kalahari Crisps join the brand’s portfolio of high-protein biltong which aim to provide convenient and ‘better-for-you’ snack options.
According to Kalahari Snacks, its new product features macronutrient benefits similar to biltong but with an added crunchy texture.
“We are extremely passionate about what we do and the products we bring to the table with the purpose of creating snacks that meet the needs of our consumers,” said Brett Johnston, co-founder of Kalahari Snacks.
He added: “Going back to my South African roots, we wanted to make sure the newest Kalahari product was just as simple and delicious as our last. As the concept of Kalahari began after the adventure of a lifetime, we wanted to continue powering individuals through their everyday adventures by creating a snack that is packed with good for you fuel and most of all, incredibly tasty and crunchy.”
Kalahari Crisps will be available to purchase online and in Sprouts stores nationwide from August, for an RRP of $4.99.
