Kellogg’s has expanded the product portfolio of its Raisin Bran cereal brand with the introduction of a new breakfast cereal featuring banana slices.
According to figures gathered by research agency NPD Group, banana is the number one breakfast fruit of choice for Amercian consumers, and Kellogg’s claims that fans of the brand had requested that the flavour be added to the brand’s product range.
Kellogg’s Raisin Bran with Bananas contains real banana slices combined with the raisins and bran flakes present in all cereals in the Raisin Bran range.
Each 55g serving of the new flavour will contain 200 calories, 17g of sugar, 5g of fibre and the addition of banana raises potassium content to 470mg per serving.
Sam Minardi, marketing director for Kellogg’s Morning Foods said: “We’re committed to providing the tasty and nutritious food options our consumers want.
“So, we looked to consumer requests and preferences for our newest addition to the Kellogg’s Raisin Bran lineup, and both led us to Kellogg’s Raisin Bran with Bananas.”
Kellogg’s Raisin Bran with Bananas will be available nationwide from US retailers in 14.5oz packs with a suggested retail price of $3.99.
