Kettle Chips has launched a seasonal baked camembert and oak-smoked garlic flavour in the UK.
The limited-edition crisps will be released in time for the key Christmas sales period, and will act as Kettle Chips’ winter offering to replace the summer’s chorizo, feta and olive flavour.
Available in 150g bags with a recommended retail price of £1.99, the limited-edition flavour is suited to festive parties or for simply sharing with friends and family during social occasions this winter.
The new seasoning was the brainchild of Kettle Chips chef Phil Hovey, who was tasked with creating a simple and warming flavour that captures the spirit of winter food. The result combines ‘rich and gooey, creamy French camembert’ with the depth of oak-smoked garlic.
Kettle Foods marketing director Andrew Slamin said: “Consumers are more inclined to treat themselves and their guests at Christmas so Kettle Chips are always popular at this time of year. Last Christmas, Kettle sales grew by 20% and the brand achieved record market share. As the festive season approaches, the limited seasonal edition can help retailers capitalise on consumers’ desire to buy premium products to share and will bring some excitement to the category.”
The brand has recorded year-on-year growth in its value sales of 6.3% – a contrast to the rest of the premium crisp category, which is experiencing slow decline.
