At the Consumer Analyst Group of New York conference on 19 February, Keurig Green Mountain announced its Keurig Kold machine, due for full launch in Autumn 2015.
Keurig Green Mountain Inc filed for the TradeMark ‘Keurig Kold’ almost one year ago on 27 February 2014, as ‘Machines for the production of cold water, soda, still, carbonated and sparkling beverages’.
Keurig Kold will allow consumers to home-brew fresh Coke, iced teas and sparkling water. Unlike Sodastream machines, the system will not require a CO2 canister for preparation of carbonated drinks – though at this time no technical details are available.
Keurig has partnered with a number of leading beverage brand owners including The Coca-Cola Company which took first a 10% and later an 16% stake in the K-cup coffee machine maker and Dr Pepper Snapple.
Alongside leading Coke and Dr Pepper brands, Keurig is also set to launch its own drinks especially for the Keurig Kold pod-drink system, including Red Barn Craft Soda, Waterful Zero Calories Flavoured Water and Tierney’s Iced Team. Coke’s Honest Tea brand is already available in the K-Cup.
