Kraft Heinz has introduced Lunchables grilled cheese sandwiches, representing the brand’s first expansion into the frozen foods category and the primary product development from its 360Crisp platform.
360Crisp is a new microwave technology designed to produce crispy and crunchy food items. Kraft Heinz aims to bring five new products under four of its renowned brands by the end of 2024.
Lunchables Grilled Cheesies “features innovative technology that delivers a pan-like crisp in seconds,” said the food giant. The frozen sandwiches, which will feature Kraft singles cheese, are available in two flavours: original and pepperoni pizza.
360Crisp delivers a golden brown, crispy exterior while maintaining a melty cheese inside in 60 seconds.
The launch of 360Crisp aligns with Kraft Heinz’s “broader business transformation strategy” and intention to drive growth within its North American operations, targeting $2 billion in net sales by 2027.
Alan Kleinerman, VP head of disruption at Kraft Heinz, said: “The launch of 360Crisp is a clear proof point in our mission to reinvent the frozen category by providing high-quality, delicious and convenient solutions for snack-time and beyond. At Kraft Heinz, we’re sitting at the intersection of food and technology – building consumer-first innovations that revolutionize the meal table and importantly, drive real value for families around the world. 360Crisp is just the beginning.”
Lunchables Grilled Cheesies is rolling out to select grocery retailers across the US for an SRP of $4.99 per box of two sandwiches.
