Krones has completed the full acquisition of container decorator Till GmbH and will form a new subsidiary called Dekron, which will manage the company’s entire digital decorating operations.
Krones acquired a 51% stake in Till GmBh in 2014, and its digital container decorating operations had been split between itself and Till from that point onwards.
However, Krones has now purchased the remaining 49% of the company in order to integrate these operations into one business unit.
A statement from Krones said: “After the jointly-developed DecoType machine portfolio had been successfully premiered for the market at the Drinktec 2017, it was now time for the next logical step: to compress the knowledge and the technologies of both firms in a single responsively accomplished innovation-driven unit.”
Dekron will be headquartered at Till’s former facility in Kelkheim, Germany, and the company says that it will upgrade this facility and will inaugurate a second production facility near Neutraubling by the end of 2018.
Krones has stated that the senior management team of Dekron will include Till’s former chief financial officer and managing director Friederike Kalusche and Sven Kerpe, who was part of the Krones Bottling Technology division.
Dr Christian Compera, head of bottling technology at Krones said: “We have in recent years invested massively in developing a product portfolio for digital decoration. Now we are optimally equipped to join with our clients in successfully progressing the marketing of digitally decorated containers.“
