Krones has incorporated the increasingly stringent requirements clients now stipulate for labelling technology in a standardised machine, available in several different sizes, which is combined with labelling stations that are either permanently installed or can be replaced using docking systems.
The basic machine, with its expandable concept, is so versatile that with permanently installed stations there’s an option for subsequent change-over to replaceable stations. The machine’s layout variants, meaning the configuration of container infeed and discharge, can also be changed retrospectively and label monitoring systems can be integrated.
Machines with replaceable stations are given the name Ergomodul. Machines with permanently installed stations are available for cold-glue labelling under the name of Ergomatic, for pressure-sensitive labelling (Autocol), for hotmelt labelling with precut wrap-around labels (Canmatic) and for hotmelt labelling with reel-fed wrap-around labels (Contiroll).
According to the brand, costs, flexibility, ergonomics, safety and eco-friendliness were the paramount considerations during the development phase of the new project. In terms of costs – capital investment, maintenance, energy costs and consumables were said to be a major focus. The new series of labellers downsizes the TCO thanks to lower expenditure on ingressing and transport, reduced energy consumption, extended maintenance intervals and eliminating lubrication. The machine’s efficacy is increased by greater efficiency, reduced change-over times, higher functional dependability and optimised operator control.
Due to the machine’s lack of tabletop, its carousel is very easily accessible from all sides. Replacement of the brushing-on elements has also been significantly simplified, because vertical braces are no longer required between the container table and the machine turret.
