Lavazza has debuted a new range of four ethically sourced coffee blends, developed specifically for the hotel, restaurant and bar channels.
¡Tierra! Origins features coffee from Tanzania and Brazil, “carefully blended to offer a unique taste experience from the country of origin”. The range includes a 100% Arabica Brazilian espresso from lambarì and cereja apasita blends, and a 70% Arabica Brazilian espresso with 30% Robusta beans – both available as beans in 1kg bags – plus a 100% Arabica Brazilian filter coffee and 100% Arabica Tanzanian filter coffee, which are additionally available in 1kg ground, 226.8g ground and 64g ground formats.
The Origins are the latest additions to the Rainforest Alliance-certified ¡Tierra! project, which aims to develop products that continue to improve the social and environmental conditions in coffee- growing communities. The new range reaffirms Lavazza’s commitment to promoting sustainable agriculture and acknowledging the work of everyone involved in the supply chain, the Italian coffee company said.
Barry Kither, away-from-home sales and marketing director for Lavazza UK, said: “The ¡Tierra! Origins range has been designed to meet the requirements of the contemporary market. While quality, taste and provenance are imperative, today’s consumers are socially responsible and ethically minded. These new blends give hoteliers, bars and restaurants more ethical options for their customers.”
