Our/London vodka and ethical drinks brand ChariTea and Lemonaid have collaborated to bring consumers a four-pack spirit and mixer collection that celebrates community and neighbourliness.
Exclusively stocked by Selfridges, the pack contains four handbag sized 35cl bottles – one each of Our/London vodka and ChariTea Maté, plus two flavours of Lemonaid. Each pack, which has a recommended retail price of £29.99, contains at least 14 servings of vodka and mixer and is perfect for an impromptu gathering with friends in the summer sun, Lemonaid and ChariTea said in a statement.
Micro-distilled in East London, Our/London vodka is an urban brand of high-quality vodka made from wheat with a unique and refreshingly simple bottle design that is sealed with a crown-cap. The vodka itself is described as smooth, fresh, with fruity notes and a natural sweetness. With a mission to challenge the way vodka is perceived, Our/London is the first dedicated vodka distillery in the capital.
Also in each pack are two flavours – lime and blood orange – of Lemonaid’s sustainable soft drinks, plus ecological iced tea ChariTea.
The brands’ parent company, Lemonaid & ChariTea, source the ingredients for the drinks from small-scale farming cooperatives in Sri Lanka, Paraguay, Mexico and South Africa. It is committed to Fairtrade: the firm pays higher prices for the raw ingredients and, vitally, supports a fair and humane agricultural system. The premium paid to its farmer suppliers helps to improve their living conditions and initiate community projects, Lemonaid & ChariTea said.
The enterprise has just reached the £1 million milestone in its development projects, FoodBev reported in May.
Described as the “drink of choice” in Germany’s underground club scene, maté tea is said to offer the “strength of coffee, the health benefits of tea and the euphoria of chocolate” and is proving popular among revellers for its energising effects from the caffeine, plus the relaxation benefits of the tea.
