Loliware’s co-founders Chelsea Briganti and Leigh Ann Tucker raised more than $10,000 for their innovative project back in 2011 and hope to be able to market their edible containers to a wider audience with help from the new cash target.
Loliware containers are made using a plant-based gelatine known as agar. The brand’s edible cups are 100% biodegradable and come in a variety of flavours, including vanilla, pepper, sour lemon, bitters and salty lime.
Reports suggest that major companies such as Google and Disney are preparing for collaborative efforts with the Lolliware brand, which is currently looking at ways to expand its patent-pending products to include different shapes and sizes.
