Mars introduces Dove chocolate-covered cashews and almonds

Mars will launch three new Dove chocolate products featuring cashews and almonds as it responds to consumer demand for more balanced snacks.

The nuts are covered with Dove milk or dark chocolate and then dusted with cocoa, cinnamon or sea salt.

Available in US retailers from March, the line will be sold in the following flavours: cinnamon dusted dark chocolate almonds, sea salt dusted milk chocolate cashews, and cocoa dusted dark chocolate cashews.

Kerry Cavanaugh, Mars brand director for Dove, said: “We challenged ourselves to create a product that would be truly innovative and special for our growing fan base. They love Dove for our signature silky smooth chocolate and flavour variety.

“This bold taste experience is differentiated by the dustings of cinnamon, sea salt and cocoa that should leave fans feeling invigorated, as if they’ve discovered something new and unexpected with Dove.”

The new line will have a recommended retail price of $1.99 for a 1.6 oz slim pack and $3.99 for 5 oz and 5.5 oz stand up pouches.

Cinnamon dusted dark chocolate almonds and sea salt milk chocolate cashews will be available in both slim packs and stand up pouches, while cocoa dusted dark chocolate cashews will be available only in stand up pouches.

Last year, Mars bought a minority stake in snack bar company Kind as it aims to cash in on the growing trend for healthier snacking.
