Mars has teamed up with Chinese online retailer JD.com for an exclusive release of a special edition of M&M’s for spice-loving consumers.
The sweet and spicy chocolate M&M’s combine the original sweet, peanut and chocolate flavour of the candy with hot pepper, as Mars aims to appeal to lovers of both M&M’s as well as spicy peanuts, a popular Chinese snack.
JD’s supply chain platform, which leverages inventory and transaction data to help suppliers match production with consumer demand, will allow Mars to track consumer demand in real-time as the new M&M’s go on sale.
Based in Beijing, JD.com has 258.3 million customers and employs around 122,000 people.
