Meatsnacks Group has revealed a packaging refresh and new flavours for its Wild West Jerky range of biltong and jerky.
Aiming to appeal to the ‘modern snacking consumer’, the range is now available in the UK and includes: jalapeno beef jerky, sea salt and black pepper salmon jerky, and fajita spice chicken jerky.
Responding to changing consumer needs, Meatsnacks said it is targeting individuals with active lifestyles and ‘a passion for adventure’.
Moving away from the traditional brand cues associated with jerky, Wild West aims to become more contemporary by exploring new flavours and healthier proteins.
Meatsnacks Group managing director James Newitt said: “We recognised the changing needs of our jerky-eating customers and set out to create a taste, texture, look and feel for Wild West that met those needs.
“With consumers looking for high protein snacks and retailers recognising the potential growth in protein, we resolved to continue to lead and to innovate.”
Last month Meatsnacks Group added Speyside Smokehouse salmon jerky to its portfolio, made using Scottish Atlantic-farmed salmon.
