Popcorn maker Metcalfe’s has launched an additional flavour and rolled out new on-pack artworks across its range of skinny popcorn.
The company is introducing a honey bee variety, which it claimed featured a “sweet and savoury flavour profile” similar to honey on toast. Available from this month in sharing bag format, the product will be available from supermarket chain Sainsbury’s and is packaged in Metcalfe’s new pack livery.
The new artwork establishes “a more cohesive and unified brand look and feel,” the company said, and are inspired by abstract vintage prints. By streamlining the packs’ colour profiles, the brand has developed a design that it said was “more in line with the product flavour”, with a lighter shelf presence and simplified purchasing experience.
Metcalfe’s has additionally launched a skinnier bag size for its impulse single-serve range, reducing the amount of packaging by 17% while retaining the amount of product content.
The innovations have been revealed less than two weeks after the company announced its de-merger. At the time, Metcalfe’s CEO Robert Jakobi said that its restructuring would help it “to satisfy the increasing demand for our current lines” and facilitate its continuing plans for new product development.
