Belgian dairy cooperative Milcobel has named Erik De Cock as CEO ad interim.
The announcement comes after Peter Koopmans left his position as CEO ‘by mutual agreement’ at the end of December 2019.
De Cock will take up his position on 24 January.
Milcobel did not provide much information of De Cock’s prior career however stated that he “has valuable and extensive experience in the dairy sector and the functioning of cooperative structures.”
During Koopmans’ exit from the company, Milcobel claimed its milk price position did not meet expectations and intends to improve its position and profitability.
The cooperative collects, processes and commercialises the milk of 2,600 dairy farms and aims to achieve a fair milk price for its members.
Milcobel produces milk powders, drinks, butter, cream, ice cream and cheese under its own brand name as well as other private labels.
