Premium instant miso soup range Miso Tasty has launched in almost 200 Waitrose stores, bolstering its portfolio of UK stockists.
The retailer will stock both classic Shiro and spicy Aka flavours of Miso Tasty’s premium instant miso soup. Available in packs of four, they will be launched with a special introductory price of £3 before reverting to the recommended retail price of £3.65.
The classic Shiro miso soup has been fermented for six months for a light, traditional flavour; while the spicy Aka variant’s 12 month fermentation period lends it a deeper, richer flavour, Miso Tasty said. The producers of Miso Tasty are tucked away at the foot of the Central Japanese Alps, where the miso is fermented using snowmelt from the mountains.
The range was already stocked in the UK by Sainsbury’s, Ocado, Whole Foods, Selfridges and Harvey Nichols.
Miso Tasty’s Bonnie Chung said: “We have worked incredibly hard to perfect our unique miso soup recipe, which we spent many years developing. It’s so rewarding to see our products being adopted by the retailers, enjoyed by consumers and it’s a dream come true for Miso Tasty to be sitting on Waitrose’s shelves!”
