Packaging manufacturer Mondi has extended its portfolio with two new durable and tear-resistant packaging solutions that it claimed would fulfil “all key requirements of large consumer packaging”.
The Polywoven box and bag are lightweight, and combine durability with cost effectiveness. Produced using extrusion lamination technology, the two new packaging products are suitable for automatic filling systems, are easy to palletise and “embody an ideal brand presentation thanks to their large print surface”, Mondi said.
The PolywovenBox provides excellent upright stability and on-shelf impact; it can be printed on using rotogravure or flexo printing in up to ten different colours, offering numerous opportunities for on-pack branding.
The PolywovenBag, Mondi added, boasted exceptional flexibility of filling: “The pinch bottom of the bag is closed with hot melt or hot air technology, whilst its top can be manufactured in different versions, such as open mouth flush cut or pinch top with or without reactive hot melt. After top filling, the bag can be closed with hot air or hot melt, folded with a tape or by stitch closing. In the case of heavy fillings, the top of the bag can be fitted with a high burst slider track and may be filled from the bottom for utmost hygiene and safety.”
The company is now targeting manufacturers across a range of different food applications, including seeds, flour, sugar and rice.
