Meat-free food brand More Than Meat has launched a new jerk burger, described as a first of its kind in the UK market.
With the same appearance and taste of a traditional jerk burger, the product sources proteins from plants and wholefoods instead of animals. It will be aimed at people who are looking to reduce their intake of meat, as well as vegans and vegetarians.
More Than Meat said that the taste was “rich and spicy, with a warm spectrum of flavours intensified by thyme, lime juice and chilli”. A carefully balanced mix of plant proteins, red kidney beans and spices help to create a “satisfying and tasty flavour”. The burgers come in packs of two with a recommended retail price of £2.95 each, and joins the company’s existing range of meat-free burgers, sausages and casseroles.
More Than Meat founder Barry Honeycombe said: “Jerk burgers have a great flavour that is rare to find in vegetarian or vegan convenience foods. We developed our burger to fill that gap and offer our customers a flavoursome and wholesome meat-free alternative that doesn’t compromise on taste.”
