Müller has entered the UK spreadable butter market with the introduction of its first branded butter spread, which launched exclusively in Tesco on 21 May.
Müller Spreadable is made with 73% churned butter, which gives the spread a particularly creamy flavour, and both salted and unsalted variants are available to consumers.
Six different variants are available in the range: salted and unsalted 400g tubs, salted and unsalted 250g tubs as well as salted and unsalted 250g butter blocks.
A marketing campaign will be launched in June 2018 to support the launch of the new product line, which will include a new TV advert starring Nicole Scherzinger and support from British Paralympian Kadeena Cox MBE, due to the company’s partnership with British Athletics.
Dan Howell, commercial director at Müller Milk & Ingredients said: “The Müller brand exists to bring everyday moments of pleasure, and with this launch, we’re bringing the delicious creamy Müller taste to the category for the first time.
“It’s a really exciting moment for us. We recognise that there has been a lack of new product development in this part of the dairy aisle, and we’re confident that by focusing on taste and leveraging the brand power of Müller, we can unlock new category growth benefitting consumers and customers alike.”
Both 400g tubs will have a suggested retail price of £3, while both the 250g blocks and tubs will have an RRP of £2.
