Italian cooking brand Napolina has launched a brand new and exclusive range of frozen pasta and sauces, a first of its kind in the UK market.
The new range, which includes ten frozen products, will be sold exclusively in Iceland supermarkets.
Each product in the range can be cooked straight from frozen including penne and spaghetti, and four varieties of filled pasta: spinach and ricotta tortellini, prosciutto cappelletti, five cheese tortellini and mushroom ravioli.
The range also features four sauces – amatriciana, tomato and mascarpone, tomato and basil, green pesto – which are separated into small, ‘convenient’ portions to help reduce food waste.
With its frozen range, Napolina aims to meet growing consumer demand for convenient home-cooking products with pasta dishes that are ready in a ‘matter of minutes’.
Most recently, the Italian brand launched a drained and ready to serve range which includes quinoa, in a move to also meet convenience demands.
“This is our first move into non-ambient territory and it’s driven by our continued innovation within Italian, as well as our longer-term ambition to further expand our range into the chilled category,” said Neil Brownbill, commercial director for Napolina.
Brownbill added: “The new frozen pasta range gives consumers the opportunity to create convenient, authentic Italian cuisine as part of a home-cooking experience. With a wide range of products, consumers can create a number of varied recipes that suit the whole family.”
Napolina’s new range is available now in Iceland stores across the UK. The filled pastas will retail at £1.75, while the spaghetti, penne and pasta sauces will retail at £1.50.
