Italian cooking brand Napolina has launched two new pour-over cooking sauces to accompany the brand’s existing line of stir-through sauces.
The sauces – available in tomato and roasted garlic, and cherry tomato and balsamic vinegar varieties – are bottled in 350g formats, with a recommended retail price of £1.79. They are “inspired by modern and classic flavour combinations and designed to strengthen the brand’s position in the Italian cooking sauce market,” the company said.
It follows the October 2014 launch of a range of Italian-inspired stir-through sauces – including marinara, arrabbiata and puttanesca varieties – supported by a £1m marketing campaign. According to the brand, its latest product innovations will allow it to enhance its convenience offering to consumers and grow its market position.
Dean Towey, marketing director for Napolina, said: “Italian sauces continue to be popular with shoppers, making up over 50% of the entire cooking sauces sector. Shoppers are increasingly looking for convenient products that help them create restaurant-quality meals at home in minimal time. Our new pour-over sauces, which use high quality ingredients, will help us to address this consumer trend.
“The new range will help us to further drive cross-category sales of our pasta and pasta sauce portfolio. Napolina’s number one position across multiple categories including tomatoes, dry pasta, pulses and pizzeria makes us a one-stop shop for Italian style cooking and puts us in a unique position to encourage usage of products that can be used together to create the full Italian meal occasion.”
