Nestlé is set to launch new special-edition sharing bags of Unicorn Smarties in the UK next week, responding to the popularity of the fictional animal across social media platforms.
Available exclusively from Asda stores in the UK from 14 June, the new flavour contains the brand’s signature chocolate pieces coated in pale pink and blue shells.
In keeping with the colourful theme, the pastel-coloured share bags will feature a rainbow stripe and a unicorn emblazoned on the front of the pack.
The new flavour is the latest limited-edition product released by the brand in response to popular trends, following the release of Orange Smarties in the UK earlier this year, and the release of World Cup Smarties in Germany last week.
Stephanie Scales, brand manager for Smarties, Nestlé UK said: “We are really excited to launch Unicorn Smarties sharing bags which are right on trend for all of those completely under the spell of the unicorn craze to share with their families and friends.
“Smarties is all about the colour and, if you are a fan of the colourful world of unicorns, then these are your perfectly Instagramable summer accessory for everything from road-trips to creative baking.
“And even if unicorns aren’t really your thing then that’s okay too because it’s still the same delicious taste of Smarties once you open the bag.”
