NFF president, Jock Laurie, said Mr Kenny was a true farm leader with a long involvement in, and passion for, Australian agriculture.
Laurie said: “After a long and successful career in managing livestock and horticultural properties, Peter dedicated 12 years of his life to delivering outcomes in the best interests of farmers.
“Queensland born and bred, Peter served with AgForce from his election to the State and Executive Council in 1999. He became the AgForce cattle president in 2001 and was elected AgForce President in 2004 – a position he held until 2008.
“Peter also served on the Board of the NFF from 2006-2009 and was an integral part of the National Farmers’ team during this time. As a former school teacher, Peter brought patience and a real ability to deal with people into his agri-political career, and he will long be remembered for his vision and dedication to agriculture.”
