Sweden’s OctoFrost Group, which manufactures individual quick frozen (IQF) freezer tunnels, has acquired Dutch-based Innotec Systems for an undisclosed sum.
Innotec makes a range of industrial food processing machinery and industrial food processing lines, with strong expertise in thermal processes like blanching, cooking and chilling. The acquisition means that OctoFrost gains a key position in the supply of complete IQF processing lines.
OctoFrost CEO Rasmus Larsson believes that the acquisition will both deepen and broaden its expertise in food processing and thermal treatment.
“We can now optimise the entire line for the best final result, highest yield and lowest energy consumption, bringing the highest value to our customers. Our after-sales activities also benefit from the scale-up in the organisation and we can be closer to our customers.”
The company already operates installations in more than 50 countries worldwide, but OctoFrost founder Ruben Larsson still sees it as ‘a big step forward’.
“Taking over Innotec was our natural response to the needs of the market,” he said. “This brings a number of advantages for food processors and the most significant one is that, from now on, there will be no further discussions who has all the responsibility for the good operation of the complete line. It is us!”
The acquisition continues OctoFrost’s relationship with Innotec, with the two companies installing multiple processing lines together on project worldwide.
Both OctoFrost and Innotec Systems are frontline companies in food processing, designing equipment that makes it possible to obtain a final product with an appetising appearance, natural bite, and natural smell and taste.
The value of the transaction was not disclosed.
