Owl’s Brew have launched a range of unique artisan teas specifically designed to be used in cocktails, paired with spirits such as vodka, tequila, rum, whiskey and gin.
The US-based tea company began after its founders became tired of conventional bar offerings and sought a beverage that was “lighter, fresher, funner” with a significantly lower level of sugar. Jennie Ripps and Maria Littlefield said: “It didn’t take us long to think of a product that offered endless flavors, that was light and fresh – our favourite non-boozy sipper – tea.”
Owl’s Brew is available in three different blends: The Classic, which is an English breakfast tea with citrus fruits; Coca Lada, a black tea with coconut pieces, chai spices, pineapple juice and agave; and Pink and Black, which combines a darjeeling tea with hibiscus, lemon peel, strawberry and agave. It works by mixing two parts of the brew to one part spirit and served cold with ice; Owl’s Brew have conceived 30 cocktails that can be made using their products, including their interpretations of perpetual favourites the margarita, piña colada, manhattan – even eggnog.
Their versatile blends can be bought at locations in 38 US states, the District of Columbia, major Canadian cities and from online retailers such as Williams-Sonoma and Urban Outfitters.
