British health food brand Pack’d is aiming to reinvent the protein shake category with the launch of its trio of frozen protein smoothie kits.
Designed with sports nutritionists, the packs contain a mix of frozen fruit and vegetables with a blend of organic whey protein.
Pack’d claims that the frozen smoothie blends “make the ultimate protein smoothie to support muscle development and recovery from exercise”. Each portion is said to contain up to 20g of protein.
The frozen mixes create smoothies by blending with milk, almond milk, coconut water or water.
The range is available in three flavours: cherry choc, apple crumble, and strawberry shake. Ingredients include: beetroot, sweet potato, fig, cherry, acai and lucuma.
In a statement, Pack’d said: “Whether you’re after a nutritious breakfast, a workout boost, daily fuel, or a healthy dessert, with this range of functional Pack’d kits you can guarantee the perfect balance of taste and nutrition, from 100% natural ingredients, without the hassle of buying and prepping expensive produce or scouring overly complicated recipe lists.
“And better yet, they’re frozen, so the nutrition is locked in for you to blend fresh, with no need to worry about hidden preservatives, pasteurisation, adding ice or wasting any precious food.”
Pack’d was founded in 2015 by Londoners Luke Johnstone and Alex Stewart, who had become frustrated by the hassle of homemade smoothies.
“We’re buzzing over the new range, they all deliver high quality protein and superfoods from a natural source and taste without any artificial flavours or stabilisers,” said Stewart. “Finally, a natural, easy, and delicious way to reap the reward for all your hard work at the gym.”
The new range will be available in the UK from November with a recommended retail price of £3.50 per 2x140g pack.
