US nutritional ingredients manufacturer PanTheryx has inaugurated a new $5 million production facility, which will produce bovine colostrum for health and wellness products.
Bovine colostrum is the first pre-milk from cows, and is rich in nutrients that provide a “powerful bioactive backbone” for health and wellness products, and the ingredient can help address digestive issues such as diarrhoea.
Located in Phoenix, Arizona, the 112,000 square-foot production facility will double the company’s production capacity of colostrum, as PanTheryx seeks to meet the growing global demand for the ingredient.
PanTheryx says the new proprietary equipment and processing capabilities at the site will greatly enhance the company’s production efficiency and capacity.
Mark Braman, CEO of PanTheryx said: “Colostrum has a remarkable range of applications for improving human and animal health.
“With our newly expanded Phoenix facility, we will be able to consistently deliver the same colostrum with high-throughput, year-round processing, and establish standards across the industry for the constant supply of the highest quality colostrum.”
Dr Mark Grabowsky, chief medical officer at PanTheryx added: “Colostrum has a potentially broad range of practical applications, from functional foods to new medicines.
“One of these areas is in global health, where colostrum-based products have the potential to address some of the most challenging, seemingly intractable public health issues.”
