PET Technologies and Thermo-Pack have partnered on the installation of a complete filling line for Ukrainian bottling company Akazia 2013.
The line will be used at its bottling plant in the Zakarpattia region of western Ukraine, and will fill bottles of Krayna-branded water in uniquely shaped bottles.
The 500ml and 1.5 litre packs feature a slightly concave shape and are adorned with blow-molded motifs that pay tribute to local design. They are intended to symbolise a range of values including wealth, success, fertility and personal growth, PET Technologies said.
The project brought together the filling expertise of Thermo-Pack and the blow molding experience of PET Technologies, it added.
“The installed line and unique PET bottle designs are the fruits of our mutual cooperation,” a spokesperson for the Austrian-headquartered business told FoodBev.
And Akazia 2013 bottling company representative Dmitriy Todosiyenko said that they ‘wanted to connect its trademark with the Ukrainian style, way of life, national traditions and customs’, and the new motifs were an ideal way to do that.
Krayna is a premium brand of water in Ukraine which is rich in minerals and bottled in Zakarpattia – not far from the spring that lends it its naturalness and purity.
Zakarpattia itself is the western-most region of the country, with a border at its furthest point with Slovakia.
