PET packaging specialist Petainer has revealed that will focus on the micro- and craft brewing market as part of global expansion plans, and has made ‘a significant investment’ in being able to support the market effectively and efficiently.
Petainer has developed a ‘highly tailored’ craft brewing proposition, which will be showcased at this year’s BrauBeviale in November.
The company, which has production plants in Sweden and the Czech Republic, is best known for its PetainerKeg – lightweight beverage containers manufactured in recyclable PET, which claim to offer a low-cost alternative to traditional steel kegs, reducing the cost of entering new markets and launching new products
They are available with one-way, low-cost fittings that enable them to be connected to existing tapping systems for draught beer.
Annemieke Hartman-Jemmett, Petainer’s group commercial director, said: “At Petainer we combine our ability to build fruitful, collaborative relationships with highly advanced packaging technologies to find the right solution for our customers. Our focus on craft brewers is no exception and we believe that we can help smaller breweries enter and grow new markets with the support and expertise we provide. We will be sharing some of our insights, knowledge and solutions at this year’s BrauBeviale.”
In addition to PetainerKeg, the company’s PetainerKeg Linestar – launched last year – is described as ‘an exciting option for larger breweries who have invested in steel keg filling lines but would like to reduce costs’.
It fits onto existing lines without any additional investment, enabling manufacturers to take advantage of the savings thanks to reduced weight and supply chain benefits.
