British pie brand Pieminister has introduced a range of four new pies for Christmas – including an open-top turkey pie with all the trimmings, plus a luxurious beef steak and stilton pie.
The four pies are available across the UK in branches of Waitrose, online from Ocado and Pieminister’s online shop, and in the brand’s restaurants and pie pubs where they can be enjoyed as part of the company’s festive menu.
The four pies consist of the Three Kings, a free-range British turkey open-top pie with smoked bacon, parsnip and cranberry; Mistle Moo, a British beef steak and Long Clawson stilton pie with chestnut, bacon and port; a roast parsnip, chestnut and West Country cheddar pie called Christingle, which offers consumers an approved vegetarian option; plus the Deer Santa pie, which combines wild British venison with dry cured bacon, red wine and green lentils.
As Pieminister managing director Tristan Hogg explained, the Three Kings offering is completely new and joins the three other returning pies: “In 2007 we decided our pie fans deserved something special for Christmas and so, the Christingle and Deer Santa pies were born. They proved so popular that they’ve graced our Christmas menus ever since. The Mistle Moo joined them last winter and all three Christmas classics were showered with stars in this year’s Great Taste Awards. We’ve been working on the perfect turkey pie to add to the range and we think our new Three Kings recipe is spot-on; tender free-range British Kelly Bronze turkey, parsnips and free-range smoked bacon in a delicious winter sauce with cranberries. It’s the best bits of a traditional Christmas feast, in a pie!”
