Alex Clere asks what benefits a merger would provide to Unilever and Kraft Heinz, after it emerged that a £100 billion approach had been turned down, and looks at whether such a large merger would really be feasible for the two companies.
Unilever confirmed that it had rejected an approach from Kraft Heinz earlier this afternoon, but both companies said they ‘looked forward’ to working towards a satisfactory agreement.
