Premium pudding brand Pots & Co has announced the launch of a new ‘upside-down’ Baked Lemon Cheesecake.
The product features baked cheesecake cream on top of a layer of lemon curd, complete with a handmade biscuit crumble that sits in a separate ‘hat’ on top of the pot which consumers can sprinkle on top of the cheesecake.
According to the UK-based brand, this enables the biscuit crumble to retain its fresh texture and also adds a ‘bit of restaurant-style theatre and playfulness to the eating experience’.
Pots & Co founder Julian Dyer said: “Re-inventing classic recipes has always been a passion of mine – I love seeing how we can take something as classic as a lemon cheesecake and put our own contemporary twist on it.
“Lemon cheesecake is a classic but to do it justice we felt we needed to do an upside-down version, with a portion biscuit crumble in a sprinkle and serve portion, to ensure it retained its golden crunchiness, giving you a better all-round experience.”
Like the majority of its pudding line-up, the new product comes in a ceramic pot which can be baked for ‘extra depth and flavour’.
The Baked Lemon Cheesecake is available at UK supermarkets for an RRP of £2.00, with a USA launch to follow shortly.
