Procter & Gamble is among three new companies to have joined Petcore Europe, the association representing the region’s polyethylene terephthalate (PET) industry.
Klöckner Pentaplast and Starlinger have also become member organisations, as the Brussels-based body seeks to unify the voices of the continent’s food packaging manufacturers.
With nearly $84bn’s worth of sales and 23 “billion-dollar brands”, Procter & Gamble is one of the world’s leading consumer products companies. Also recognised as a leader in sustainability, its influence to Petcore Europe cannot be overestimated, according to the organisation’s executive director.
Patrick Peuch said: “We are delighted to welcome these three new members. Our association aims to align the whole PET value chain to work together and to speak with one voice. Gaining additional support from three global leaders like Klöckner Pentaplast, Starlinger and Procter & Gamble in their respective market sectors is therefore a real asset for Petcore Europe.”
German firm Klöckner Pentaplast produces rigid plastic films for food packaging applications, while Starlinger operates in the field of machine manufacturing.
